It can be tricky to maintain your fitness if you're on the road, whether you're travelling for business, backpacking on the road, or enjoying a shorter holiday away. Fear not dear readers, for I've whipped together this fast and effective workout you can blast out from your own hotel or hostel room - not every spot you're staying, especially if you're travelling on a budget without access to your normal swish gym at home, has gym facilities. All you need is your own fine self, a bed, a bag, a pair of socks, and a wall!
MAD TO LIVE FIT VID HOTEL ROOM BLAST
Follow the outlined circuit below and use the video that follows for a demo. This is an awesome workout you can do with zero gym equipment, maximising the props of your own hotel or hostel bedroom, including your backpack! Firing up different muscle groups and incorporating strength training with balance, the below session comprises 6 different exercises while you will do ten reps of each for 3 rounds, making this a fast & fun session you can thrash out to start the day.
DYNAMIC WARM: 5 MINUTES of a mixture of squats, lunges, jacks, mountain climbers, inch worms and toe taps.
-SQUAT WITH BACKPACK
-BED TRICEP DIPS
-INCLINE PRESS UPS
-BED LEG RAISE
-SOCK SLIDING PIKE
WARM DOWN: Be sure to stretch at the end of your workout! Hold each stretch for 30 seconds, breathing deeply into the stretch.
