The annual Roxy Fitness event, part of the global movement of international events taking place throughout the year (France and Hawaii already takin' off with a bang in early July) draws together a crowd of wave, stoke and fitness hungry women and girls for an incredible day of sandy fun and awesomeness.
Having firmly established itself as my favourite event on my calender after last year's inaugural launch, I was super excited to get the gang together for another epic weekend down on the Cornish coastline.
Myself and the rest of the Roxy crew, including the gorgeous yogi Emma Jaulin, hot-tailed it down to the epicentre of the UK's colourful and rad surf scene, Newquay in Cornwall for a full weekend of fun and post-event shenanigans on Fistral Beach.
Joining us this year were a brilliant crew of women, including my fellow fitness-frother twin, Women's Health Digital Editor Amy Hopkinson, Yogi-extraordinaire Blogger Cat Meffan, angel-faced travel-fiend Mollie Bylett, fellow wave-worshipper, OK's Rosie Underwood, and over 100 incredible women and girls who I LOVED meeting and getting to know over the weekend. What a troop of babes!
Celebrating women's fitness with a brilliant day of yoga led by Emma (nothin' like down-dogging getting your toes sandy right on the beach, saluting to the sun in front of you), a tough 5k race on the sand and a gnarly Stand Up Paddle Board battle round the bay (hats off to you chicks - SUP'ing through white wash and onshore messy waves didn't look easy!), check the edit below for a full low-down of the amazing day!
